PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

The Advanced Open Water Diver course will help you improve your skills and build more self-confidence underwater. This is the best way to collect more dives and learn more under the supervision of your PADI Instructor.
This course builds on what you have already learned and helps you develop as you learn about new activities and dive environments, and further develop your skills.
The Course
You complete five adventure dives that introduce you to the world of:
- underwater navigation
- Deep diving (usually between 18-30 meters / 60-100 feet)
Three more adventure dives of your choice, usually with us buoyancy in perfection, underwater naturalist and drift diving.
The knowledge and skills that the Advanced Open Water Diver course teaches you depend on your interests and your thirst for adventure. But in any case you will learn:
- Practical knowledge of deep diving;
- Physiological effects of deep diving;
- Different ways of using an underwater compass;
- And much, much more, depending on the adventure dives you choose.
Course Type
An AOWD course needs 2 days which we’ll spent on our large dive boat M/V Nemo 1 at the Similans, Koh Bon and/or Koh Tachai as Overnight 2 days/1 night, with a total of 6 dives. To reduce the learning stress, an extra day before the course starts would be very helpful. So you have plenty of time for the self-study of the AOWD manual, there are 5 chapters that want to be read. These will then be discussed with your dive instructor in an extended briefing, directly on the boat, before the dive.
